Good stuff indeed! Really was one of the best events I attended in quite sometime. First time back at the Beave in 2 years. The weather gods were totally in our favor. I didnt go 50 east of the track before I hit ran and it rained the whole way home! Met a lot of new people as well which is always a bonus.
JJ I think I owe you something like 46 zip ties - thanks!
Great Job by all the nesba Crew this weekend at the beave

Was definitely a great weekend. Well run, weather cooperated, and very few incidents.
Thanks to all the CRs, but especially Lenny for talking my wife into the fact that I need new rearsets :)
^ no joke. most of the people around hte fire Saturday night heard Lenny's conversation with my fiancee. The man should go into sales. He may have gotten me a new bike!

GREAT weekend! I honestly did not have a good time at NJMP in April (rain and redflag bonanza), but this weekend reminded me why I spend the huge amount of time and money on this hobby.
I spent most of the weekend running a second or two slower than last year (10s and 11s), but really feeling comfortable and making sure that my lines and body position were correct. Then during the last session on sunday, everything clicked! Ran four 1:08s in traffic and one 1:07 chasing a guy in on a black R6 with an orange tank (I think his name was Dan). Big props man, that alone made the 5 hour drive worth it!!! I felt in complete control and very comfortable the whole time...
Thanks to everybody: The CRs who gave great input (Mike, Pascal, Kevin, Tom, Buck, Lenny), the people who I had a ton of fun chasing, the (many) people who made clean passes on me, and general good mood in the pits.
Big ups on the lack of red flags too.
See you guys in VIR on May 15th!!!!

Someone else said they have a video of my crash before the kink on Saturday from a couple bikes back. I'd really like to see that video.

I noticed it was Troy's bike too, but I recognized that it was Rick riding it. Figured Rick was either out of gas, out of rubber, or both. I know Lenny was down to cords on the right side:eek:

Thanks to everyone at NESBA for making it a great weekend at BeaveRun! I particularly appreciate all the work you did to keep the weather perfect all weekend long.
And thanks to all the CRs for their help - Pascal, Lenny, Kaley and ... dammit, I can't remember the name of the tall guy in yellow/black joe rocket leathers. So, thank you yellow/black joe rocket leathers guy! All were instrumental in getting me to the next level.

It was my first I session and I was hoping to follow Will's advice as I was putting on the Intermediate sticker on the battered and abused fairings of my bike: "Have fun, and DON'T CRASH!"
Dan followed me for the first couple laps, and then passed me on the front straight. I kept him in sight for another 2 laps and then my fuel light came on. Last session of the day, no more fuel in our cans... damn! So, I dialed it back a bit and Dan faded from view.
It was great to meet you, and I look forward to seeing you (and providing a passing target for you) out on track soon!

Last Weekend definitely turned out better than expected! :D
Whats the actual track record? I know I'm gonna cry myself to sleep over how much I suck after somebody says what it is.:(
I believe I remember hearing that the track record (on a bike) is just under 57 seconds.
the only reason we were even talking about it is because someone questioned if a liter bike was necessary on a 1.8 mile track. IIRC, the record was set on a 750cc bike, but was held by a 600 before that. but i can't remember who quoted those figures, so don't take it as gospel.
if you're running under a minute at Beave, you are freakin' flying. I assume slicks would be the ONLY way to break 58 seconds.

It was an awesome weekend!! First time out this season and it was great seeing everyone again and meeting some new people. I had a blast. Very few red flags, and was glad to see that the ambulance grew was paid to essentially sit in the pits. I don't think the ambulance even ran?
PJ and Steve, great mixing it up with you out there, except for those good passes on Saturday coming into turn 1 and 10. :banghead:
Chris, great to meet you. Congrats on the upcoming wedding! Good luck with the upgrading to a new bike. I think Lenny made some headway for you.
Thanks to great feedback from the CR's:
Lenny, as always, thanks for the feedback. I had a feeling you were watching the last session from the pits. That session felt effortless.
Rick thanks for the advice on turn in--it was working great at the end of Sunday. Also, raising the shifter did the trick for the mis-shifts.
Kevin, great advice on where to pick up some speed and dealing with the shifting problem at T6. BTW...the oil was Rob's.
Todd- glad you were able to ride on Sunday. Thanks for running the session with me and showing me that you can really rail through T1. Also, thanks for offering the bump evaluation. :spank: Perhaps some other time... :saythat:
Rob-- Your comment on T1 was great. It opened my eyes to another way of looking at it.
PJ, I know you are not a CR, but great advice on the gears! It made a huge difference and gave me a way to pay you back on Sunday. :poorguy:

offical track record is currently held by Robert Jensen on a R1.......... it is a :56.876
Rob is one of the few riders that has dipped into the :57's onboard a 600 as well
anywhere from a :58 to a 1:00 flat are very do-able by a competent rider on a 600
So ignore everything I said about the bikes, but I remembered the time right!
