![]() While James uses the 209s, I set up the R6 for 211s; they've got fantastic dry grip and help up to NJMP Lightning (long right hander) better than the Pirellis I used earlier in the season. Ryan

Do you need warmers with the 209s? The only available rear is a 190? Still tempted...

Judy, I believe Dunlop 190 was designed to also work on the 5.5 rim. You should have no trouble should you decide to use it.
I am running the BT003 Bridgestones at the moment. They are also fantastic and like the Dunlops and last longer than the Pirelli. I plan to use the Dunlops later after my supply stack is exhausted. However you need warmers. This for most isnt the best solution and can be an added expense / worry that's not needed. My wife rides and I'm at fault for whatever tire fails her so with some deliberation I changed her over from the DC3 to the BT002 RS (soon to be Bt003 RS). No warmers needed and they are not going to cycle like a race tire. No idea if they can go 15 days like her DC3s. The BT002 RS has great grip and should suit you fine. Remember its not a race tire so it should have some differances. So if your looking for a solid preformer and a different tire Moon can get these also. Only thing right now is they aren't on the truck you need to order them. I also recomend the Dunlops even at a higher price. Its been my observation you are recovering that additional expense with longer life.

Thanks, Troy, good info! Sounds like at my pace, I'd be better off staying with the DCIIIs or trying the B'stones 002RS or 003RS. No way I'm fast enough to justify the expense of tire warmers, generator, etc.

What kind of suspension changes are you guys making going from a Pir Super C or Diablo Super C (180's) to the Dunlops (190's)??? I need to get new tires on Monday and I am split on whether to stay with the Pir or try the new Dunlop 209's.
Not real interested in messing with it throughout the day..... |

measure the height of the Pirellis on the rims and then the Dunlops on the rims and change your geometry accordingly it really depends on your personal preference and current base setting if you will have to make any changes to rebound or compression |

Remind me to smack you. Just ride them and then we'll adjust as needed. It really is that simple

I believe that the new 209 (AMA Daytona Sportbike spec tire) was designed to work specifically with a 5.5 rim. I haven't used them yet, but based on what I know of the older Dunlop tires I would guess that they are a stiffer carcass than the Pirelli's. This probably means a little softer suspension setting, and maybe a change in ride height to compensate assuming the tires are taller.
